2017 Block of the Month - August Block 2
As promised, here is Block 2 for August - this block is called Sister's Choice.
It is similar in construction from a block we made way back in February, and although it looks complicated, it only two cut sizes. In fact every square is an A sizing, except for the star tips which are Bs

A - 2 7/8" square, cut in background (4) and accents / main, as you desire
B - 3 1/4" square cut in background and main ( 4 of each)
Again we will use the modern method of sewing the HST units, so check out the pictures in Aprils BOM instructions if you need a refresher.
You may prefer to sew this together in units, making the corner units and using the centre squares as sashings like the other block from this month.
I find it easier to sew it together in rows. (So I can iron my seams in opposite directions on each row and line them up.

Here are my 5 rows ready to pin and sew together in to my block.

My finished block.
See you all in September ( but don't hesitate to yell out if you get stuck!)
